Everything you need to know about clubs, beach clubs and parties in Phuket

Phuket is Thailand's nightlife capital — and for good reason. On a single island you'll find it all: luxurious beach clubs facing the sea, world-class megaclubs, and a party street that doesn't quiet down until sunrise. But precisely because there's so much, it's easy to get lost. After years on the ground, here's my complete guide — where, when, how much it costs and how to do it right.

Bangla Road — The Beating Heart of Patong

If there's one address everyone knows, it's Bangla Road in Patong — a walking street that closes to traffic every evening and turns into a sea of light, music and people from all over the world. Here you'll find Illuzion, ranked among the world's top 100 clubs, with festival-grade sound and lighting — alongside Hollywood, White Room and Sugar. Around them are dozens of open bars, live shows and endless energy. My tip: Bangla wakes up around 10pm and peaks after midnight.

Beach Clubs — Seaside Luxury

If you want a polished, slightly less wild vibe, Phuket's beach clubs are an experience of their own: infinity pools, day beds, champagne, gourmet food and international DJs against the sunset. The floating Yona Beach Club, Cafe del Mar, and Catch and Xana in Bang Tao — each with its own character. Most shift from a relaxed "poolside day" to a "sunset party", so aim to arrive around 4–5pm. It's worth reading our beaches guide to pick an area.

The Perfect Night Route

The secret is not to cram everything into one spot. Here's how I like to build an evening: start with sunset and a cocktail at a beach club, move on to a good dinner, hit the big club around midnight, and finish on Bangla into the small hours. That way you get all the colours of Phuket without feeling rushed.

VIP Tables & Fast Entry — Why It's Worth It

On weekends and special events venues fill up fast and queues get long. A VIP table gets you fast entry via the guest list, a set seat, bottle service and a private vibe — and the per-person price is usually better than paying entry plus drinks separately. That's exactly the part I arrange: entry, a table and a preferred price you won't find on your own.

When & Where — Seasons, Days and Events

Peak season is November–April, but Phuket is alive all year. Weekends (Thu–Sat) are busiest, and for special events (holidays, New Year, festivals) book well ahead. If you're arriving during a big festival — tell me, I know the calendar.

Beyond Phuket — Bangkok and Koh Phangan

Phuket is the base, but all of Thailand awaits. Bangkok offers rooftop bars and huge clubs, and Koh Phangan is the party capital of the south — including the legendary Full Moon Party. Want to combine? Check our parties & festivals page.

Important Tips Before You Go Out

  • Carry a little cash and mind your phone — busy spots need attention
  • Agree a tuk-tuk price in advance, or use Grab
  • Decline street vendors' "offers"
  • Dress code: most clubs are relaxed, but dress nicely for the upscale beach clubs
