Yona Beach Club is one of the names that keeps coming up when people plan a Phuket trip — and for good reason. It's a beach club that sits right on the water, with an infinity pool, a bar, food, a DJ, and a vibe that feels like a party floating in the middle of the sea. In this guide I'll walk you through what to actually expect at Yona, what a full day there looks like, who it suits, the dress code and what to bring, and how to fit it into a full Phuket nightlife trip.
What Is Yona Beach Club
Yona is a floating beach club that opened in 2023 off the coast of Phuket, reported as one of the first of its kind in the area. Instead of sand, there's a platform sitting on the water: a large infinity pool that blends into the horizon, a bar right by the water, a few food areas, daybeds and private cabanas for anyone who wants their own corner, and a DJ running the whole time to keep the energy up.
It's not a quiet private beach — it's a club, with everything a good club should have: energy, music and people who came to have a good time. If you want to see the full details and photos, we have a dedicated Yona Beach Club page on the site with everything you need to book.
What a Full Day at Yona Looks Like
The day starts on the way there — you reach Yona by boat, not by car, and that's part of the experience, not just logistics. The departure point changes between seasons, so the first step is always confirming where you're leaving from for your date — not something to assume on your own.
As the boat gets closer, you already see the floating platform in the distance, with turquoise water all around. Once you arrive, there's plenty to spread out into: the pool, the bar, daybeds, cabanas, and food corners. Part of the day happens in the water, part in the pool, part under an umbrella with a cocktail in hand, and a lot of it just happens with the music in the background slowly building the energy through the day.
There's no rigid schedule here — it's a club, not a guided tour. Most people just arrive, pick a spot, and let the day happen.
Best Time of Day to Go
Opening hours and the pace of the day are best checked against your dates — they shift between seasons. The important step is checking the current schedule with me before confirming anything, and I'd rather you show up with accurate information than assumptions.
Who Yona Beach Club Is For
Yona is a great fit for groups of friends who want a real party day — pool, music and people, not just lying on a beach. Couples looking for something different and special also tend to love it, but it's worth knowing: this isn't a quiet beach. If total calm is what you're after, it's better to pair Yona with a different, quieter day rather than building your whole trip around it.

Dress Code at Yona
Yona's dress code is pretty clear, and the club does check it at the door — anyone who doesn't follow it may struggle to get in, or not get in at all. Worth saying honestly: the policy is mostly for men, but women should also know it before deciding what to wear.
Not allowed: tank tops of any kind, sports jerseys or workout clothes, offensive t-shirts, cross-body bags, fanny packs or plastic bags, and arriving topless — men need to board the shuttle boat dressed, with their torso and shoulders covered. Sarongs or elephant pants, sweatpants, workout shorts or leggings, and wetsuits or dive shirts aren't allowed either. On footwear — Crocs, workout sneakers, costume shoes, and sandals or flip-flops worn with socks won't get you through the door. Costumes of any kind, or ripped t-shirts, pants or shorts, are also out.
What works well instead: shoulder-covering tops in nice, flattering materials, smart-casual pants in quality fabric, chic shorts, stylish swim trunks, clean and good-looking casual shoes, and neat, stylish accessories. In short: beach-club chic that looks put together, not gym wear and not costume wear.
What to Bring, Besides the Right Outfit
A few simple things worth packing: sunscreen (most of the day is in the sun and the water), a waterproof pouch for your phone and cash since you arrive by boat, and a small towel or a change of clothes if you want one. If you're prone to motion sickness, it's worth bringing something for it in advance, since the ride can get choppy.
You don't need to bring much — Yona is a fully set-up club, not a remote retreat where you need to plan for every detail in advance.
Combining Yona With a Full Phuket Nightlife Trip
Yona works great as one day inside a longer trip, not just as a standalone event. A lot of groups combine it with another boat day or a private yacht party — if that sounds good to you, we have a full page on boat trips and yacht parties in Phuket with all the options.
A good day or two looks roughly like this: one day at Yona for the pool-and-party-on-the-water dose, another day on a calmer boat trip or at a villa with the group, and an evening or two out in Phuket's nightlife itself. That way you get the floating experience, the pool, and the clubs on land — without rushing to fit it all into one single day.
